Animals on Earth

Hi this is Kayla and Sydney.  We are doing a blog about animals. This blog is for kids too; it tells facts about animals. We will have jokes on here and school stuff.

Cats are the animal of the week !!!! Yay

Kitty Soft Paws

There are many many many breeds of cats. Some breeds of cats that I have are tabby, tom, calico and Siamese. Each week we will be doing a different animal. Next week will be horses. Actually, did you know that most calico cats are female? I had a male calico who ate food in the middle of the night, Ha ha right! Cats also like to sleep a lot, they can sleep to 18 hours a day! Cats like to hunt mice and most of them like to cuddle with humans. The domestic cat is small, usually furry, domesticated and a carnivore and they are mammals.

They are usually called house cats as they are kept as an indoor pet or simply cats when there is no need to distinguish them from other fields or felines. Their life span as a domesticated cat would be at least 15 years. There are cats who survived a fall from 32 stories ( 320 meters) onto concrete. A group of cats is called a clowder. Cats have over 20 muscles that control their ears. Cats spend 70% of their lives sleeping.  The claws on the back paws of the cat aren't as sharp as the front because the claws in the back paws don't retract and, consequently, become worn.
